First Paw Experience

The First Paw Experience is a complimentary introduction visit designed to help pets feel comfortable and confident before their first grooming appointment at The Furologist.

This short, low-pressure visit allows your pet to explore the salon, meet their groomer, and begin building familiarity with the grooming environment — all without the expectation of grooming services.

While this experience is primarily intended for new clients, existing clients with pets who may benefit from a refresher introduction are welcome to inquire.

What should I expect from this Session?

During this 10–20 minute visit, your pet will have the opportunity to:

Explore the grooming space at their own pace
Meet and interact with their groomer in a calm, positive setting
Observe and safely sniff grooming tools and equipment
Become familiar with salon sights, sounds, and smells
Begin forming positive associations with the grooming environment

No grooming services are performed during this visit. The focus is on comfort, trust, and familiarity.

It also gives pet parents the opportunity to see how we interact with their pet and ask questions about the grooming process.

This experience is not a grooming appointment and does not include handling, restraint, or grooming services. Designed as an introduction only — no bathing, trimming, or nail services will be performed. Additional First Paw Experiences may be offered during special group events or promotions at our discretion.
